VOLUNTEER NOW are running a 3 hour basic ‘Keeping Children Safe’ awareness course in Fermanagh House on 7th March 2019 from 10.00 – 1.00 for those working with children and young people. The training is delivered by accredited trainers with experience of safeguarding issues. Participants receive a certificate on completion of the full course. The course covers:
• legal context for keeping children safe
• types of abuse including online, grooming and exploitation
• signs and indicators
• procedures for reporting concerns
• relevance of code of behaviour for staff/volunteers eg: e-safety issues.
