THE WESTERN AREA CHILDCARE PARTNERSHIP are running a Safeguarding & child protection refresher course in Fermanagh House on Thursday 4th June from 7 – 10 the course duration is 3 hours. It is aimed at Practitioners who have previously completed the Safeguarding and Child Protection full course but are within 90 days of or 90 days after the date of their certificate expiring, it will bring your Safeguarding and Child Protection Certificate up to date. N.B In preparation for this refresher training; please read your previous full safeguarding course material. If you hold a current Designated Child Protection Officer certificate you are not required to complete refresher Safeguarding training. When applying you MUST insert the expiry date of your current certificate on the application form. You must bring your current certificate (or a copy) with you on the first evening, otherwise you will not be able to complete the course.
Purpose of the Course:
Upon completion, the trainee will be aware of/knowledgeable in their role and responsibilities as a childcare worker within the child protection framework. The course will meet the current (at time of delivery) legislative requirements.
Course Learning Outcomes will Include: All information must be linked to Early Years policies and to the DHSSPS Minimum Standards for Children Under Age 12 and, where appropriate, the ETI Guidelines.
