A voluntary sports club offering training and competition in Special Olympics sports for persons with intellectual disabilities within Fermanagh.

In 2006, the already significant work which was being carried out in Fermanagh to support athletes with intellectual disabilities in special schools and adult day care to train and compete in Special Olympics, took on a new growth and Lakeland Special Olympics Club was born. Since then the Club has grown significantly in numbers and has currently over 60 registered athletes from throughout the County, with new members always welcome.

Lakeland Special Olympics Club prides itself on working towards its vision by adhering to its ethos and code of conduct and good practice and follows an athlete-centred approach with the emphasis on participation. When participation is seen to be the key function, then winning and losing will be kept in perspective.
