This Christmas, the charities based at Fermanagh House have come together in a heartwarming effort to support local families in need. Collectively, they have purchased and donated essential toiletries to Fermanagh Women’s Aid and Action for Children, offering a lifeline to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.
Fermanagh House, a social enterprise owned by The Fermanagh Trust, serves as a hub for a diverse range of organisations committed to making a difference. Tenants include Fermanagh Trust, Community Advice Fermanagh, Ulster Wildlife, RSPB, Lough Erne Landscape Partnership, Youth Action, Connect Fermanagh, MindWise, Volunteer Now, Cedar Foundation, and Inspire Wellbeing. With offices, meeting spaces, and shared resources, the venue embodies the spirit of collaboration that is vital to the charity sector.
The donated toiletries, including shampoo, soap, perfumes, Christmas gift sets, and sanitary products, will be distributed by Women’s Aid to individuals affected by domestic abuse and by Action for Children to families in need of additional support. These contributions aim to ease the pressures faced by families and individuals during a season that can often be as stressful as it is joyous.
Sonya Johnston, Deputy Director of The Fermanagh Trust, praised the collaborative efforts of the resident charities: “We are delighted to see the organisations at Fermanagh House come together to make a meaningful contribution this Christmas. Their generosity reflects the spirit of collaboration and care that defines our community. By working together, they are helping Women’s Aid and Action for Children provide vital support to those who need it most.”
“A heartfelt thanks also goes out to service users and visitors who generously donated to this initiative, which is a testament to the ethos of Fermanagh House and its resident charities, rooted in fostering a compassionate and supportive community. It demonstrates the transformative power of cooperation in the charity sector, where collective action can provide hope and help to those in challenging circumstances.”
